Coronavirus has hit more than 160+ countries and has affected more than 3 lac people all over the world. We have come to a point where we have to be extra careful about what we are putting in our bodies and how are we cooking our food. It's important to sanitize everything and be more hygienic during such times. The most important thing right now after washing your hands for 20 seconds is washing & caring for your food.

Here are a few things that you can do to make sure what you're consuming is safe to eat.

1. How To Wash Your Fruits & Vegetables

Fruits like apples & guava should be kept in boiled water and some salt for 15 minutes before consuming. It is also advisable to cut your fruits and then eat them. Fruits like raspberries or blueberries should be kept in normal water for a while. Drain the water and keep it in the refrigerator before eating them. Leafy greens need to be washed thoroughly & soaked in water for 20 minutes before using. Only wash your fruits & vegetables when you're about to eat it, not before. That way you'll be able to stock up for a longer duration.

2. What To Order

Look at food that's semi-cooked or cooked well. Avoid eating raw veggies, raw salads. Instead, if you're looking to call for something that's healthy, opt for a stir fry or boiled veggies.

Having said that, a lot of restaurants have taken under consideration the hygiene of the food and are using fresh ingredients. Food delivery services like Zomato and Swiggy are also following the Coronavirus hygiene protocol. It is safe to eat things you like as long as the source of the food where it's being made is trusted by you.

3. Busting Food Myths

There have been a lot of myths about the transmission of Coronavirus. A lot of us have stopped eating meat & seafood. Well, it has been proven that non-vegetarian food NOT the source of coronavirus. It is thus safe to eat the meats. Just make sure that you're cooking it well.

Unfortunately due to the same name of the virus and the popular beer brand Corona Beer, there has been a dip in the sales. There is no connection between the virus and the beer brand except for maybe the same name.
