Heat the milk until lukewarm.
Add melted butter, sugar, salt and dry active yeast in the flour (maida) mixture. Mix all the ingredients and add the lukewarm milk and knead the dough. Continue kneading the dough for 4-5 minutes.
Sprinkle some flour on the board and roll the dough into a small circle that is of 1/2 or 3/4 cm thickness. Cut the doughnuts using a round cutter or a glass.
Now take a small cap of any bottle and make a hole at the Centre of the doughnuts. Repeat the same process with the remaining dough and place it on the plate topped with butter paper.
Brush a little oil on top of the doughnut so that it does not dry up. Cover the doughnuts and keep them aside to rest for 1.5-2 hours.
Doughnuts are ready, now fry them – keep the oil medium hot for frying. Flip the sides once they turn slightly golden brown.
Once they are done, dust sugar on them and keep them aside. One could top the doughnuts according to their desired choice i.e chocolate glaze topping/white glaze topping.
