With winter bidding adieu and spring finally setting in, it's about time you took a break from spicy comfort foods. And what better way to spring clean your diet than participating in a cooking workshop that ensures a healthy body and mind?

Bangalore-based nutrition expert, food blogger and consultant Dr Nandita Iyer and Mumbai food blogger and stylist Amrita Rana have teamed up for a healthy Spring Cooking workshop this Saturday in Mumbai. With their respective backgrounds in modern nutrition and Ayurveda, the duo plans to focus on making healthy cooking fun and benefit the body and mind in many ways.

“My motto is to make people understand that eating healthy does not have to be boring and cooking from scratch can be easy and healthy all at once,” says Nandita about the thought behind the workshop.

Learn to make dishes like Green Curry Millets with Tofu Crumble (made with whole millets), Buckwheat Nachos with Rainbow Salsa, Garlicky Soup with Basil and Micro Greens and Strawberry Oats Crumble with Rose Infused Jaggery Caramel to name a few. The duo will also explain the health benefits, Ayurvedic properties and nutritional values of the dishes.

Previously known as the 'OMG Bacon Jam girl', Amrita turned vegetarian last year and pursued a course in Ayurveda in Kerala. With her gorgeous Instagram feed, Amrita plans to showcase food that will appeal to the eyes as well through this workshop. “Spring is all about colours and vibrancy, so we will be cooking food that is not only good for the body, but also visually and aesthetically pleasing,” quips Amrita.

The overall purpose is to make people understand that “we don't need five different things to get complete nutrition. One dish that is complete in itself is enough for a wholesome meal,” says Nandita.
