At a time when the city sees new restaurant launches and sassy trends take over the food space, there are some who are working hard for a good cause. Food With Benefits is a culinary fundraising programme, which was started by three like-minded foodies. Shivani Bansal, Nachiket Shetye and Mangal Dalal are doing their bit to help raise funds to empower girls from Mumbai's red-light areas with food.
In a unique dinner hosted at Anjali Pathak's Flavour Diaries, seven chefs will come together to cook up a seven-course Asian meal on Wednesday, August 25 at 7:30 pm. The highlight of the sit-down meal will be dishes that will be prepared by each chef from a country of his or her choice. Catch some of Mumbai's finest chefs such as Shilarna Vaze, Sahil Singh, Kshama Prabhu, Rishim Sachdeva, Gresham Fernandes, Tejal Choksi and Anjali Pathak cook up a storm with flavours from the East for you at this one-of-a-kind event. Funds raised from the dinner will be donated to NGO Kranti, an outfit that works for the enpowerment of girls living in the red-light district of the city.
