So, you thought Goan food was all about fish curries and pork sorpotel? Adda with Kalyan travelled to Goa recently with India Food Network‘s Kalyan Karmakar scouting some good local food. He catches up with Executive Chef Anupam Gulati of Marriott Hotels & Spa to talk about the resurgence of Goan food at restaurants.
For time immemorial, Goa has been known as a non-vegetarian’s paradise, with little or no mention of its vegetarian delicacies. Chef Gulati stresses on Mugachi Gathi, a sprouted moong curry typically prepared in Goan Hindu homes apart from other delicacies.
The conversation spans lesser-known Goan dishes like choriz pao and ros omlette, which is a breakfast dish found at beach shacks. Quite a revelation we must say.
