Monsoon, the season for hot plates of samosas, kachoris, vada pav and the quintessential chaat. Just as the rains start pouring down on the city, a cup of garam chai and a plate of bhel seems like the perfect thing to indulge in. But, as tempting as the dahi puri at the corner stall seems, monsoon might not be the best time to eat out at your favourite thelas.

So, here are some places in Mumbai for some lip smacking chaats that you can safely indulge in during the monsoon.

Amritsari Chaat, Prabhadevi

Although it’s just a year old, this place has made its name serving the typical North Indian chaat. With all their spices sourced from back home, their menu is as authentic as it is delicious. Drop by to try their aloo tikki chaat, dahi papdi chaat and pani puri. Care for some good ol’ Punjabi chaat anyone?

Monsoon - The Chaat Corner, Andheri

The most popular chaat joint in the area, this place has been serving up some of the best chaat in the city for more than 20 years. Although it’s known for its spicy paani puri, it does serve quite a range of other tangy chaats. That’s not all, whether you want dosas or sandwiches, they have it all.

Kailash Parbat, Kurla, Ville Parle, Borivali

Just the name is enough to take you on a walk down memory lane. Serving foodies for more than 30 years, this place is one of the most iconic eateries in the city. With delicious North Indian food on their menu, their chaat is quite a treat as well. Be it the dahi puri, Pani Puri or even sev puri, you just have to try it all.

Puranmal, Vile Parle

Back in the day, it was known for its sweets, but today Puranmal has come to be known for its brilliant chaat. For everyone who wants to add a little spice to their life, drop by and try their extra spicy pani puri amongst other dishes. Go on, grab your favourite people and head on over to have a chat over some chaat.

Elco, Bandra

A well-known fast food joint in Bandra, Elco is famous for its good food and quick service. The menu has everything right from North Indian, South Indian, Chinese food and of course chaat. Try their cheese sev puri, dahi raaj kachori, makai bhel and tawa aalo chaat. Quite an array of interesting dishes we say!
