"Mumbai is close to my heart and I have always wanted to cook here," says Chef Manish Mehrotra of Indian Accent, who is planning to host a series of dinners and lunches for the first time in the city at Magazine Street Kitchen.

The renowned chef and owner of the Delhi-based restaurant (Indian Accent launched in NYC earlier this year) has been in the news for taking Indian regional food to the next level. After pursuing his hotel management studies in Mumbai, he went on to gain experience in top hotels of the country before opening Indian Accent in 2009.

Not just that; Indian Accent has been featured in the World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2016 and has also been awarded the San Pellegrino Best Restaurant Award in India by Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2016 for the second consecutive year. "I always wanted to show the world that India and Indian chefs are more than just curry and spice and oil. Our country caters to different kinds of palates and that is why I opened Indian Accent," he says.

On September 25, 27 and 28, the culinary maestro will prepare a multi-course menu to give Mumbaikars a taste of modern Indian cuisine that is innovative, exciting and sure to bring back some childhood memories. His first public dining event will see some of his signature dishes like Blue Cheese Naan, Duck Khurchan Cornetto, Meetha Achar Spare Ribs with sun-dried mango to name a few. There will also be a few new dishes like Baked Aloo Mutton Chilla, kulcha, papdi chaat and much more.

When asked if he plans to open Indian Accent in Mumbai anytime soon, he says, "I'd love to do more such food events because a lot of people in Mumbai travel to Delhi to eat at my restaurant. However, I have no plans to launch Indian Accent in Mumbai just yet."

If you are excited about world class gourmet Indian food, then this is one event you shouldn't miss.
