This little green fruit has quite a good reputation for being one of the healthiest foods around. A great way to consume good fats, this humble fruit also considered a super food and can be eaten in several ways.

From brownies to dips, here is how you can use avocado in more ways than one.

Avocado chocolate mousse

Satiate your dessert cravings and keep your body happy with this healthy chocolate mousse.

In a food processor/blender, add melted chocolate, avocados, cocoa powder, vanilla, honey and salt. Blend this until the mix is smooth and creamy. Pour into glasses and refrigerate for about four hours. Garnish with berries and serve.

Avocado ice-cream

With summer almost here, scoop up this delicious homemade ice-cream.

Cut and peel an avocado and add it to a blender. Puree until smooth. In a large bowl, add whipped cream along with the avocado puree and honey. Fold in well, pour it into a container and keep it in the freezer for a couple of hours or until the ice-cream sets. Scoop and serve.

Avocado spread

Dip your chips in it or spread it on your toast.

After cutting and peeling the avocados, mash them well. Add in finely chopped cucumber, mint leaves, lemon juice, chillies, garlic, salt, and pepper. Mix well to make sure all ingredients are well incorporated. Put it in a bowl, top with some chopped coriander and serve.

Avocado brownies

Give into your cravings without the guilt with these somewhat healthy avocado brownies.

Sift together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda and salt. In a separate bowl, mix together vegetable oil, avocado and agave/honey. Add the eggs and vanilla essence. Fold in pureed avocado and mix well. Pour this in a well-greased baking tin and bake for about 15-20 minutes. Once baked, cut into small squares and eat.

Avocado fries/fritters

Crunchy, creamy and oh so delicious! These over the top fries are everything you need.

In a bowl, mix flour with salt and keep aside. Put eggs and breadcrumbs in another bowl. Dip the cut avocado slices in flour, then eggs, panko mix and keep on a plate. Fry them until golden and serve with a fancy dip.
