This zesty fruit has quite a reputation for adding just the extra zing to your curries, meats and even drinks. It’s the one ingredient most cuisines or dishes can’t do without. But instead of just using it for the basics, try whipping up a few of these citrusy delights with lemon.
Who doesn’t love a good tart, especially when they are easy to make? To make this, add in sugar, lemon zest, egg yolks, lemon juice, salt and butter in a pot and put on the stove. Mix well and let it cook for a while. Strain it and keep it in the fridge to cook for a few hours. Once cool enough, pipe it onto tart shells, garnish and serve. Easy right?

Add it to a well-greased tin and form a layer at the bottom to make the crust and keep that in the fridge to set. In a bowl, mix together cream cheese, whipped cream, icing sugar, lemon zest and lemon essence. Add this on top of the set crust. Put this in the fridge as well and let it firm up. Garnish with lemon slices and serve.
