This distant cousin of the well-known gobhi aka cauliflower has not really been a favourite among the little ones. These fun recipes are a great way to add this green vegetable in their diet without a fuss.

Here are a few ways you can make broccoli taste great.

Broccoli Cheese Soup

Great during winter, this soup is perfect to keep yourself warm when the temperatures go down. To make this, start by chopping and then boiling the broccoli. In a pan, add in butter, vegetable stock, coconut milk, salt and pepper. Mix everything well. Add in the cheese and broccoli and let it simmer. Once cooked, garnish and serve hot.

Broccoli Croquets

These croquets make for great snacks or starters and are more than easy to whip up. Mix in chopped boiled broccoli, egg, flour, salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, chopped garlic and butter. Incorporate well and shape into croquets. Coat with a layer of egg and then a layer of breadcrumbs. Deep fry and serve. Yum!

Broccoli Casserole

This casserole makes for a great party dish. To make it, start by pre-heating your oven. Take broccoli, wash and then chop it. These make for a great breakfast treat. Start by mixing cooked broccoli, ginger and chili in a blender. In a heated pan, add in oil, cumin seeds and the broccoli mix. Add in chili powder, turmeric, coriander powder and garam masala along with some salt. Mix well and let it cook for a while. Roll parathas with this stuffing and cook. Serve with yoghurt and pickle.
