As I pen this, the rain pelts down, and I am listening to Liza Minelli belting out ‘Don’t Rain On My Parade’. That is exactly what I wish for you this week. Digestive systems are likely to be fragile, so careful with that street food. This is also not the week to experiment with anything exotic. The irony is that though the stomach needs you to be cautious, your appetite will be robust, and those in-between snacks are going to tempt you, and how!
Rise above wicked temptations and appease your cravings with some a fruit yogurt pudding, delicious onion soup or a baked potato. Bring out the chaat masala and sprinkle liberally over steamed vegetables. Don’t forget salads! The greens are exactly what the Zodiac has ordered this week, so fill yourself with kale, spinach, lettuce, rocket and arugula. Add some goat’s cheese, and you are set for food fiesta.
There’s a lovely full moon in Capricorn, and you can enjoy the blast of lunar energy by eating lean proteins, fruits and vegetables. Here is a simple and superb recipe for the full moon celebration:
Place a generous helping of tuna flakes and chopped hard-boiled eggs in a bowl. Vegetarians can use tofu, paneer and sprouts.
Mix in a dressing made with olive oil, almond milk, balsamic vinegar, raw honey, salt and pepper.
Add olives, capers, cherry tomatoes, almond flakes and sesame seeds.
Serve on a generous bed of spinach leaves, topped with roasted grated coconut.
Munch on, crunch on!
The name of the game this week is ‘pot luck’! Share your meals with a loved one, and wash it down with a hearty glug of joie-de-vivre.
