The monsoons are teasing us with early showers, and I bet you are only one resolution away from that plate of pakodas with your chai. But, sorry, no fried food, rich and creamy dishes, cheese or meats for you this week!

Keeping in mind that Mercury is in Taurus, Venus in Gemini, and the Moon is travelling in its waning phase through Aquarius and Pisces, the food forecast for this week is fresh, high-energy chow that is light on the stomach. Quinoa, lentils, chia seeds, pumpkin seeds, eggs, fish (tuna and salmon are your best bet), chicken breast, whole grain cereal, yogurt, oranges, nuts, spinach, rocket leaves, carrots, apples, bananas, pineapple and cranberries are a great choice.

Yes, you can have that luscious mango too, but don’t crowd what could be a somewhat delicate tummy this week, by pairing it with cream or ice-cream.

More than ever, this week you need to hydrate, hydrate, hydrate. Squeeze some lemon into a bottle of water, add mint leaves and drink it through the day. And come chai time, opt for a refreshing green tea.

The determinant this week is revitalisation and rejuvenation. Heavy foods containing fats, carbohydrates and spices will make you mentally sluggish and physically lethargic.

If you must indulge, do so with foot and head massages. Accept all lunch and dinner invitations that will intellectually stimulate you, and happily invite your loved ones to feast… umm, ‘salad’ with you. Spend time outdoors, and lap up the soothing spirit of nature.
