Although the vada pav and samosa thelas near your workplace seem very enticing, summer is not the time to indulge in all these deep-fried delights. Light, easy and nutritious food is what summer calls for and that’s exactly what you should be eating.
So, instead of choosing something unhealthy at work, carry with you an easy, refreshing salad jar that will certainly make all your co-workers want some.
A good one to munch on after a crazy weekend, this salad is quick to make. To assemble it, add a lime dressing made with vinegar, lemon juice, salt and pepper along with chopped pineapple, blueberries, cooked quinoa, sprouts and kale in a mason jar. Screw on the lid, put it in your bag and rush out of the door.
Green Garden Salad
This salad is a great combination of beauty as well as taste. In a jar, pour in a balsamic vinegar dressing along with diced cucumbers, tomato, chopped spinach, pistachios, dried apricots and finish it with a flower crown made with edible flowers.
Now you might not be a chef, but that doesn’t mean you can’t cook like one, right? Whip up the dressing first with some olive oil, lemon juice, mustard seeds, chopped garlic and Parmesan cheese. To this, add chopped tomatoes, cucumbers, boiled eggs, sliced chicken strips, lettuce and cheddar cheese. It’s that easy.
Egg & Avocado Salad
For everyone who loves avocado, put this on top of your list. First, add your favourite salad dressing. You can go crazy with this one. Now put chopped boiled eggs, assorted nuts, boiled corn and avocado slices. Ready to go in 5 minutes.
