Give us dal-chawal any day and we will happily tuck into it using our hands. It is something we grow up eating and eventually fall in love as we grow older. So naturally when we did a Twitter poll recently, it won hands down.
We asked food lovers about the one dish that should be made the national dish of India. We gave them four choices - daal chawal, biryani, butter chicken and masala dosa. Daal-chawal received the maximum number of votes, and we are not complaining.
