Never been on a food walk? The time is just right. Join the Finely Chopped Bohri Mohalla Ramzan Walk on Saturday, July 11. Who needs excuses any way?
India Food Network's Editor-at-Large, Kalyan Karmakar is gearing to take Mumbaikars and food lovers alike through the lanes and bylanes of Bohri Mohalla in Bhendi Bazaar. Feast on some of the best kebabs, bheja (goat's brains), kaleeja (liver) and gurda (kidneys) that are prepared on an ancient flat griddle here.
The highlight of the walk is the Bara Handi, where meats, pulses and grains are slow cooked together in 12 vessels (bara handi) for around six hours! Not to forget the 126-year-old ice-cream shop that could beat any modern-day dessert parlour!
The walk will take you to iconic places such as India Hotel, Haji Tikka, Taj ice-cream and Tawakkals.
