Hold on...no Matt Preston?
News has just come in of the MasterChef Australia team flying down to India early next month. Co-judge Gary Mehigan along with some of the popular faces from the show such as pastry chefs Janice Wong and Adriano Zumbo, season 8 winner Elena Duggan will be in Bangalore and Mumbai for the World On A Plate food festival 2017 on June 3 and 4 respectively. Mumbai-based chef and head chef of TAG - The GourmArt Kitchen Ranveer Brar will be representing India.
"The whole idea is to get MasterChef Australia fans meet some of the most renowned chefs from across the world and also create a network for food lovers," say the organisers.
So, what is the fuss all about? According to this year's schedule, there are exclusive masterclasses, a tete-a-tete where you can interact with the judges of the popular TV show, and a competition where Gary, Elena, Adriano, Janice and Ranveer will judge some of the best restaurants, patisseries and cocktails in the city.
What is there for the non-MasterChef Australia fan? Nothing much honestly. If you are not familiar with the faces from the show or the show itself, you could buy yourself a movie ticket instead!
