  • Heat oil in a kadai
  • Once the oil is hot, add the jeera
  • Add the diced onions
  • Cook till the onions have turned translucent
  • Add 2-3 red chillies
  • Add the diced tomatoes
  • Stir well
  • Add the garlic ginger paste
  • Add salt
  • Add the red chilli powder and haldi powder
  • Stir again
  • Allow the mixture to cook for 2 minutes
  • Add the urad dal
  • Lower the flame and mix well
  • Instead of onions, you can also use spring onions
  • Add the green chillies and coriander leaves for garnishing
  • Ready to serve
