A Not-So Fiery Red Chicken Curry

Don't get intimidated by the colour of this chicken curry. Give it a shot to know why!

INGREDIENTS

    1 kg chicken
    ½ tsp of garam masala
    ¼ tsp of turmeric powder
    Few coriander leaves
    250 ml of water
    1 tsp of coriander powder
    3 medium sized tomatoes, grated
    3 medium sized onions, finely chopped
    4 tbsp of vegetable oil
    Red masala : 1 tsp jeera,
    4-5 kashmiri red chillies,
    6-8 cloves of garlic
    1 inch piece of ginger
    Salt to taste

DIRECTIONS

1. Marinate the chicken with ginger-garlic paste, red chilli powder and turmeric. Keep it aside for 2-3 hours.

2. Fry the onions, add the red masala and cook well.

3. Add the marinated chicken to this.

4. Put the dry spices and the tomatoes.

5. Add water and pressure cook the chicken for 7-8 mins after the first whistle.
