Alu Vadi or pathrode is an authentic Maharashtrian snack recipe. Made with colocasia leaves and gram flour this can be a starter/tea-time snack or relished as a side dish.

INGREDIENTS

    6 leaves of arum
    1cup besan
    2tbps rice flour
    1tbsp chilli powder
    1 tsp turmeric
    2tsp dhanajerra powder
    1tsp Garam masala
    2tbsp tamarind pulp
    3tbps grated jaggery
    Salt
    Oil for frying
    Steamer for steaming
    Twinge for sealing

DIRECTIONS

Take the colocasia leaves and flatten them out.
To the bowl add gram flour, rice flour, turmeric powder, garam masala, chili powder, salt, jaggery water, tamarind water and mix them together.
Add the prepared masala to the colocasia leaves and repeat the process.
Fold the leaves and roll them.
Steam the aloo wadi for 10-12 minutes.
Remove the aloo wadi and let is rest.
Cut them and fry this aloo wadi.
Aloo Wadi is ready to serve.
