Sweeten your Janmashtami celebrations with this delicious Aval Ladoo or Poha Laddu recipe by Preetha. Enjoy these jaggery filled goodies guilt free as they contain no sugar. So binge on these bites of heaven on the auspicious day of Janmashtami.

INGREDIENTS

    Ghee: 4 - 5 tablespoons
    Brown poha: 1 cup
    Jaggery, grated or finely chopped: ½ cup
    Mixed dry fruits: ¼ cup
    Chopped raisins: 2 tablespoons
    Green cardamom powder: ½ teaspoon
    Few drops of milk

DIRECTIONS

– Melt few drops of ghee in a pan. Add dry fruits, poha and roast for 1 to 2 minutes.
– Allow to cool and grind into powder.
– In the same kadhai, melt jaggery. Don’t cook it.
– Off the flame and add raisins, few spoons of ghee, cardamom powder and poha mixture.
– Mix well and allow to cool for few seconds. Using ghee (if required), shape into laddoos. If the mixture is too dry, you may add a few drops of milk to adjust consistency.
