Who doesn't love a good masala dosa with chai for a hearty breakfast? Geeta Sridhar shows you the Chennai style of making the spiced potato masala and lathering it inside freshly made dosa. This makes for a great evening snack as well.

INGREDIENTS

    2-3 Medium Potatoes
    1/2 teaspoon oil
    Mustard Seeds
    Chana Dal (Split Bengal Gram)
    Chopped Green Chillies
    Curry Leaves
    Hing (Asafetida)
    Chopped Coriander
    Red Chilies
    Garlic Paste
    1 Medium Onion Chopped
    Salt To Taste
    A Pinch Of Turmeric Powder
    Dosa Batter

DIRECTIONS

In a pan add oil and roast mustard seeds, chana dal, dry red chili, asafoetida, green chili, curry leaves, ginger garlic paste, chopped onion, turmeric powder, salt, boiled potatoes and coriander. Mix them well.
In another pan, make the dosa. Fill in the prepared masala inside the dosa, fold, and serve hot with coconut chutney.
