Dahi Bhalla Papdi Chaat

INGREDIENTS

    Dahi Bhalla Papri
    200g of urad dal pre soaked for 5-6 hrs
    Water
    Oil
    1 tsp of ajwain
    2-3 green chillies
    Salt to taste
    Dahi (Curd)
    Papdi
    Boiled potatoes, chopped
    Coriander leaves, finely chopped
    Bhallas (water has been squeezed out)
    Imli chutney (tamarind chutney)
    Green chutney (mint Chutney)
    Sugar
    Pepper powder
    Salt to taste
    Jeera powder (cumin seed powder)

DIRECTIONS

  • Add the urad dal into mixer
  • Add the green chillies
  • Grind the dal
  • Add a little water
  • TIP: Do not add too much water as we need to keep a thick consistency to make the bhallas
  • Transfer the batter into a bowl
  • Add the salt
  • Add the ajwain
  • Fry small round portions in a deep frying pan with hot oil
  • Turn them around and fry until they turn light golden brown
  • Once done transfer them into water
  • Soak them in water for about half an hour after which squeeze out the water

To make the dahi papdi chat

  • Add salt into the dahi
  • Add the jeera powder (cumin seed powder)
  • Add the pepper powder
  • Add the powdered sugar
  • Stir well
  • Place the papdi in a bowl
  • Add the boiled potatoes
  • Add the bhallas
  • Add the dahi (curd)
  • Add the imli chutney (tamarind chutney)
  • Add the green chutney (mint chutney)
  • Garnish with coriander leaves
  • Ready to serve
