INGREDIENTS

    3 tbsp pure ghee (clarified butter)
    Water to cook
    1/2 cup moong dal (red lentil) & 1 cup rice, washed and soaked
    1/2 to 1 inch dalchini (cinnamon)
    2-3 lavang (cloves)
    1/2 tsp haldi (turmeric)
    Salt to taste
    1/4 hing (asafoetida)
    1/2 tsp jeera (cumin seeds)

DIRECTIONS

Heat the ghee in a deep pan.
Once it is heated, add asafoetida, turmeric powder, cumin seeds, cinnamon & cloves and give it a good mix.
Then add soaked moong dal & rice and salt as per taste and mix again.
Add the water and mix well.
Cover the pan and cook it well till all the water gets evaporated.
Garnish with some coriander
