Ganpati in Mumbai is a sight to behold and the festival inspires a ton of sweet treats especially modaks. Preetha Srinivasan teaches you how to make modak dough at home, a quick and easy dough recipe.
1. Combine the flours, salt and enough water to mix into a thick batter.
2. Heat a pan and coat with oil. Remove excess using a tissue paper.
3. Add batter and keep mixing till the batter starts to resemble dough.
4. Remove on to a greased plate and keep kneading till it’s a smooth dough. Use oil if necessary to grease your palms. 5. Keep covered with a damp cloth so that the dough doesn’t dry out.
