Homemade Bread Recipe

Why buy bread from the market when you can make it in your kitchen- that too with the goodness of whole wheat. A perfect base for peanut butter, veggies, meat or just plain classic Butter Toast!

INGREDIENTS

    400 gms whole wheat flour
    100 gms refined flour
    15 gms dry instant yeast
    15 gms castor/ grain sugar
    15 gms oil
    10 gms salt
    Butter for brushing
    Milk for brushing
    Lukewarm water

DIRECTIONS

In a bowl, combine flour, instant yeast, sugar, salt, oil and knead using lukewarm water. Grease palms with oil/ butter and keep kneading for 5 to 10 minutes.
Keep covered in a warm place for 1 hour or until dough rises to double its size.
Grease a bread mold or baking pan with butter and keep aside.
Punch the risen dough and shape into bread. Place in greased tin.
Cover and allow to rise for 45 to 50 minutes or till well risen.
Preheat oven to 220 C.
Grease top with milk and water wash/ egg wash and bake in preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes or till brown crust is formed on top.
Remove and brush with melted butter.
Allow to cool for few hours before slicing.
