Method
- Add a pinch of salt to the all purpose flour
- Add vanilla powder
- Add melted butter and sugar mixture
- Mix well to form the dough
- TIP: The consistency should be like sand before adding water
- TIP: Add water in intervals and as per requirement
- Dough is ready
- TIP: Rest the dough for 15-20 minutes
- Once the dough is ready, pour enough oil for deep frying
- Make pea or marble sized dough balls
- TIP: Avoid using oil while making dough balls because of the butter content in it
- Once the dough ball is made, press it on the back of the fork and flatten it
- Roll the dough backwards
- TIP: Ensure the ends are tight once the roll is made
- Drop the kal kals into the hot oil
- Fry for 30-40 seconds till they turn golden brown
- ready to serve
