    ½ a cup of Tuvar Dal (split pigeon gram), washed and soaked in water
    A pinch of asafoetida
    1 tbsp clarified butter
    ¼- ½ tsp turmeric powder
    A small piece of ginger
    Salt to taste
    Water

DIRECTIONS

Lachko Dal is a famous Gujrati variation of dal. Its thick, smooth and buttery. Made with Tuvar Dal, hing and ginger this dal goes best with hot steamed rice and Osaman.
