In a pan add oil, ginger garlic paste, asafoetida, chopped onion, chopped tomato, brown chickpeas, turmeric powder, red chili powder, Malwani masala, salt, water and mix them together
Cook them for 15 minutes
In another pan add, oil, cloves, cinnamon stick, black peppercorns, chopped onion, freshly grated coconut and mix them together until they turn golden brown in color.
Grind the mixture of grated coconut until liquid like consistency is formed.
Add this prepared paste to the pan and cook it for 5 more minutes.
Malwani channa Usal is ready to serve.
