Matar Ka Nimona Recipe

Matar Ka Nimona is a popular North Indian dish prepared with green peas, potato and a mixture of spices. It tastes best when paired with roti or steam rice. Try this authentic Green Pea Curry recipe by Pallavi.


    Green peas - 1cup
    Tomato - 2 chopped
    Potato - 2 thinly sliced
    Ginger - grated - 1 teaspoon
    Coriander leaves - chopped - 2 tablespoons
    Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
    Garam masala - 1 teaspoon
    Red chili powder - 1 teaspoon
    Green chili - chopped - 1 teaspoon
    Turmeric powder - 1 teaspoon
    Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon
    Oil - 2 to 3 tablespoons
    Salt to taste


In a pan add oil, cumin seeds, chopped green chili, turmeric powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, tomato puree and mix it all together
Let it cook for 3-4 minutes.
Grind half portion of the grean peas
Add in the same pan the crushed grean peas, potato, salt to taste, garam masala, water and mix it all together.
close the lid and let it cook for 5- 10 minutes.
Matar ka Nimona is ready to serve.
