  • Heat a wok
  • Add 1 tbsp of oil
  • Add the finely chopped onions
  • Fry the onions on a high flame
  • Add a pinch of salt
  • Fry the onions on a low flame until they turn brown
  • Add 2 tbsp of whole wheat flour
  • Stir well and roast the flour with the onions until it turns light brown
  • Add one cup of water
  • Stir well and break the lumps
  • TIP: Add ½ cup of additional water if you feel poutine is too thick
  • Add 1 tbsp of vegetarian worcestershire sauce
  • Add salt to taste
  • Add pepper as per taste
  • Add 1 vegetarian stock cube
  • Mix well
  • Let the mixture come to a boil, and turn off the flame

For Plating

  • Add the French fries in a bowl
  • Scatter the mozzarella cheese cubes
  • Pour the hot gravy on top of the fries
  • Garnish with some cho pped spring onion leaves
