Recipe: Lau Chingri Or Bottle Gourd Cooked With Prawns

INGREDIENTS

    1 cup of peeled, cubed and boiled lau (bottle-gourd)
    ½ cup small Prawns
    2 green chillies
    1 tsp cumin seeds
    1 tsp turmeric powder
    3 tbs mustard oil
    1 tsp sugar
    Salt to taste

DIRECTIONS

The words Bengali and Fish have connection that many don’t understand. Well, that bond is something words cannot express.

Method:
1. Heat 1 tbs mustard oil in a pan. Apply salt and turmeric powder to the prawns. Fry the prawns in the oil. Drain and
keep aside.

2. Add 1 tbs oil to the remaining oil. Heat the oil. Add cumin seeds, green chilies and cook for ½ min. Add the boiled lau and sauté well. Add turmeric powder, sugar and salt to taste. Cook for 2-3 mins. Add the fried prawns and mix well. Garnish with coriander leaves
