1. Start by mixing together butter and sugar.
2. Add in eggs and the vanilla essence and mix again.
3. In this, put in flour and incorporate.
4. Divide the batter into three equal parts and colour them individually.
5. Add these to well greased baking tins and let them bake.
6. Once out of the oven, level and frost.
