Sindhi Eggless Besan Omelette Recipe

In the mood for a quick snack or looking at a different breakfast option, sans eggs? Try Veena's Sindhi Besan Omelette! It's quick to make, perfect for a grumbling tummy!


    • 5 heaped tbsp besan (gram flour)
    • Oil to fry
    • 1 small onion, finely chopped
    • Coriander leaves, finely chopped
    • 1-2 green chillis, finely chopped
    • 1 inch ginger, finely chopped
    • Salt to taste
    • 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
    • Water for batter


  • To the besan (gram flour), add 1 finely chopped onion
  • Add finely chopped ginger, green chillies and coriander
  • Add 1/2 tsp red chilli powder and salt to taste
  • Add water and mix all the ingredients
  • Ensure there are no lumps in the batter
  • The consistency is to be free flowing
  • Pour oil on a pan and spread evenly
  • Add batter and spread it evenly in a circle
  • Allow the omelette to cook
  • Sprinkle some oil on the top so the omelette doesn’t stick to the pan
  • Flip it over
  • Check to see if both sides are done
  • Add more oil and fry the omelette till it is golden brown
  • Flip and fry the other side
  • Turn it around to check if both sides are properly done
  • Serve hot!
