Home-Made Vegan Tofu Bhurji By Rithika

Talk of India's most loved fast food items and you just cannot ignore bhurji. Another variation of this popular dish but with a small vegan twist, the tofu bhurji is simply awesome! So, stay tuned!


    1 tsp oil
    1 green chilli
    2 cloves of garlic
    ½ cup chopped onions
    1 spring onion, finely chopped
    ½ a tomato, finely chopped
    ½ a green capsicum, chopped
    ½ tsp turmeric powder
    Salt to taste
    A pinch of pink salt
    Coriander for garnishing
    200g fresh tofu


  • Heat oil in a pan
  • Once the oil is heated, add the green chillies and the garlic
  • Add the chopped onions
  • Stir the onions till they turn golden brown in color
  • Add the chopped tomatoes
  • Add the capsicum
  • Add the spring onions
  • Stir the ingredients once
  • Add the turmeric powder
  • Add salt as per taste
  • Add a pinch of the pink salt
  • Crush the tofu before putting it on the pan
  • Stir the ingredients around
  • You can also add vegetables like corn, baby corn, mushroom, or red and yellow capsicum
  • Stir the ingredients well
  • Cook the bhurji for about 2 minutes
  • The bhurji is now ready to serve
