Tomato Chutney

Compliment your Indian meal with tomato chutney! You can also use it in a sandwich, or in a roti-roll or with chips and nachos- the chutney makes your snack tangy, interesting and delicious!

Tomato Chutney

  • Heat a thick bottomed kadai/ deep frying pan
  • Add 2-3 tbsp of vegetable oil
  • Add ginger
  • Add green chillies
  • Add onions
  • Sauté the ingredients until onions turn translucent
  • Add tomatoes
  • Add 1 tsp of coriander powder
  • Add ½ tsp of salt and half of the coriander leaves
  • Cover the kadai with a lid and let the ingredients cook 5-7 mins
  • Use a hand blender to smoothen the Tomato Chutney
  • Blend the mixture for 3-5 mins until its consistency changes to that of a thick sauce
  • Garnish with coriander leaves and serve
