Method:
- In a pressure cooker, pour in the oil
- Once the oil is hot, add the jeera
- Add the chopped and garlic-ginger
- Stir well
- Add chopped onions
- Stir well
- TIP: Cook the onions till they turn brown
- Add salt to taste
- Add little water
- Add tomatoes
- Add salt to taste
- Add red chilli powder
- Add turmeric powder
- Add the washed chana dal
- Add the chopped white pumpkin
- Stir well
- Add coriander leaves
- TIP: You can use coriander leaves for tadka
- Add water for the dal to cook
- Mix well
- Cook the dal upto 2-3 whistles for 5-7 mins on a slow flame
- TIP: Add more water to make the dal thinner
- Let the dal simmer for 5 mins on a slow flame
- Add green chillies
- Add coriander leaves
- Mix well
- Ready to serve
