Chickpea and Potato Gravy


  • Add 2 tbsp of oil into a pressure cooker
  • Add the jeera
  • Add the garlic-ginger paste
  • Stir well until garlic-ginger turn golden brown
  • Add the onion and totmato puree
  • Stir well
  • Add the green chillies
  • Add coriander leaves
  • Add salt as per taste
  • Add coriander powder
  • Add red chilli powder
  • Add haldi (turmeric powder)
  • Mix well
  • Add dahi once the tomatoes are cooked
  • Add the potatoes
  • Add the choliya
  • Mix well
  • TIP: Cook the choliya on slow flame for 5 mins
  • Add water to adjust the gravy
  • Shut the cooker let the choliya pressure cook for 2 whistles and then on slow flame for 2-3 mins
  • TIP: poke a knife through potato to check if its done
  • TIP: The same recipe can done for choliya paneer and aloo mutter as well
  • Add the garam masala
  • Add the coriander leaves
  • Stir well
  • Ready to serve
