Dink Ladoo

Method:

  • For the syrup: Melt 1/4kg jaggery
  • Add 1/2 cup water
  • To fry dink (edible gum): Heat ghee in a pan
  • Once the ghee is hot, drop in the dink
  • TIP: Fry the dink in batches
  • TIP: Only if the ghee is well heated, will the dink puff
  • Once the dink puffs, remove it
  • Allow the syrup to cool before adding the other ingredients
  • Now, add grated and roasted coconut to the cooled syrup
  • Add fried, chopped almonds and raisins
  • Add roasted poppy seeds
  • Add fried dried dates powder
  • Add nutmeg powder according to taste
  • Add the puffed dink
  • Mix well
  • TIP: As a variation you can also use black raisins
  • Make medium size balls of the dink mixture
  • Ready to serve
