Red Chicken Curry

Procedure

  • Heat the pressure cooker and add 4 tbsp of oil
  • Add the chopped onions
  • Stir well
  • Saute the onions until golden brown on a low flame
  • Add the red masala
  • Stir well
  • Let it cook 2-3 mins
  • Add the marinate chicken pieces
  • Stir well
  • Add ¼ turmeric powder
  • Add 1 tsp of dhaniya powder (coriander powder)
  • Add ½ tsp of garam masala
  • Mix well
  • Add the grated tomatoes
  • Add salt as per taste
  • Mix well
  • Cook the chicken on a low flame for 15mins
  • Ensure that the masala (gravy) is completely dry
  • Boil water separately
  • Add the boiling water into the chicken
  • Stir well
  • Add few coriander leaves
  • Close the pressure cooker
  • After the first whistle goes let the chicken cook for another 7-10 mins on a low flame
  • Red chicken curry is ready to serve
