Tomato Fish


  • Heat 3-4 tbsp of oil
  • Add some fresh garlic
  • Add the marinated fish pieces once the garlic turn golden brown
  • Only shallow fry the fish pieces
  • Gently turn the fish pieces and cook from the other side
  • TIP: Partly cook the fish as there are two parts of cooking the fish
  • Cook the fish on the other side for another two mins
  • Once done transfer it out on to a tissue paper
  • Use the same oil for making the gravy
  • Add the fresh garlic into the pan
  • Add the garlic greens
  • Stir well
  • Add the finely chopped tomatoes
  • Add a few coriander leaves
  • Add 1 tsp of salt
  • Add 1 ¼ tsp of red chilli powder
  • Stir well
  • Add half a glass of water to make the tomatoes pasty
  • Mash the tomatoes with the help of a masher
  • Add the fried fish pieces into the gravy
  • Coat the fish with the tomato gravy
  • Cover the pan with a lid and let the fish cook for another 5 mins
  • Garnish the fish with green chillies, coriander and garlic greens
  • Tomato fish is ready to serve
