We Made Marzipan, Eggnog And A Lot More At The Jolly Good Christmas Community Cook-Up
This year, we celebrated an early Christmas, IFN style! After two successful community cook-ups, we organised our Christmas edition last saturday and it was a lot of fun!
On December 17, India Food Network and APB Cook Studio joined hands yet again to celebrate Christmas with the Jolly Good Christmas Community Cook-Up at Craft Deli.Bistro.Bar.
The event began with the very talented Tanai Shirali, showing everyone how to make the two most loved Christmas drinks, Mulled wine sangria and Eggnog. He enlightened everyone about the origin of eggnog and how it is consumed in various countries. Right from all the tips and tricks to making a good cocktail to getting taste of these delicious drinks, this session had it all and needless to say it was quite a hit with the attendees.
Chef Paul Kinny, culinary director- Bellona hospitality and Mrs Smita Kinny conducted a hands on session with all the attendees, teaching everyone how to make traditional East Indian Christmas treats like Marzipan, a thick almond confection made with sugar and almond meal, Guava cheese which is a sweet made with guava pulp and sugar and Milk cream which is essentially a cashew nut and milk fudge.
These treats were made and wiped out in no time and to everyone’s delight, each of them received a box full of these delicacies to take home!
The event ended with everyone coming together to engage in conversation surrounding food and gorging on a delicious High tea spread laid out by the team.
Right from the festive cocktails to the traditional treats and conversation, this Christmas community cook-up was truly a celebration and ushered in the spirit of Christmas in its truest sense.
Stay tuned while we plan our next community cook-up!
